Can any tree be transplanted?

Not every tree is a good candidate for transplanting. Success depends on the species, age, size, root structure, and condition of the tree. Our arborists will assess the tree honestly and advise whether transplanting is viable before any work is committed to.

What is the best time of year to transplant a tree?

Cooler months are generally better for transplanting as trees are under less stress and water demand is lower. Our team manages timing as part of the process to give every tree the best chance of a successful move.

How far in advance do you need to prepare a tree for transplanting?

For larger or more established trees, root pruning and preparation several months in advance significantly improves survival rates. We will advise on the right preparation timeline during the assessment.

Will the tree survive being moved?

Survival depends on the species, how well the tree is prepared, and the conditions at the new site. We are honest about the risks upfront and only recommend transplanting where there is a genuine chance of success.

Can you transplant trees as part of a development or construction project?

Yes. We work with developers and builders across the MidCoast to relocate trees that need to be retained as part of development approvals. Full compliance documentation is provided where required.
