Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need council approval to remove a tree on my property?
In most cases within the MidCoast Council area, yes. Trees over a certain size generally require a permit or development application before removal. As a MidCoast Council panel provider, we can advise on what applies to your property and assist with the necessary documentation.
How do I know if my tree needs to be removed?
Signs a tree may need removal include significant lean, large dead branches, trunk cracks or cavities, root damage from construction or storms, and fungal growth at the base. If a tree is structurally compromised or poses a risk to your home, our qualified arborists will assess it on-site and give you an honest recommendation — including whether pruning or other treatment could save it.
What happens to the tree after removal?
All timber, branches, and green waste are cleared and removed from your property as part of every tree removal job. Where possible, we chip material into mulch on-site for recycling. If you want the firewood kept, just let us know — we are happy to stack it for you. Stump grinding can also be completed at the same time to leave the site clean and ready for replanting or landscaping.
Can you remove trees near powerlines or buildings?
Yes. Our arborists hold the qualifications and experience needed to work safely near powerlines, roofs, fences, and other structures. We follow strict safety protocols for every tree removal job and coordinate with Essential Energy when required for high-risk situations near overhead lines. Sectional dismantling techniques allow us to bring down trees safely in tight spaces without damage to your property.
Do you offer emergency tree removal?
Yes. MidCoast Tree Solutions provides 24/7 emergency tree removal for storm damage, fallen trees, and hazardous limbs across the Mid North Coast. If a tree has come down on your property or is threatening your home, call us and our crew will respond as quickly as possible to make the site safe.
We’re always happy to help!
